Cellular Pathway Booklets With Media

Client: Amgen Oncology

A series of eight booklets with media on CD-ROMs developed to engage medical professionals at society meetings about emerging therapeutic areas being explored by Amgen Oncology. As Creative Director working closely with the medical communications client stakeholders as part of CREO’s account team, we evaluated the look and bulleted points to reimagine them as elegantly styled materials, with a rich palette and large characters, and targeted narrative with a call to action.

Challenge

Amgen Oncology was looking to update their original 6 celllular, mechanism pathway booklets for use and distribution at their exhibit booths at medical professional society meetings. The existing materials were booklets that emulated PowerPoint slide notes with small boxed images and bullet copy that was factual but contained no call to action.

As Creative Director working closely with the medical communications client stakeholders as part of CREO’s account team, I worked to help envision a successful series of booklets with  elegant styling and engaging visuals and story with a call to action. Many key stakeholders at Amgen Oncology including the CEO and product development scientists have commented how sophisticated the materials look and the messaging is spot on and have asked for numerous imagery for their presentations to internal teams, shareholders, and pharmaceutical partners as part of their positioning as leaders in the development of emerging therapies.

Program Contribution and Notes

To create compelling and scientifically accurate materials, it was essential I understood cellular functions to discuss the clinical research with the clients and then direct the medical illustrators and creative team to establish a long-lasting and consistent style with a rich palette heavily featured detailed graphics and complemented the story. These visuals were also adapted into interactive slides and coordinate voice over talent to bring the stories to life.
